Modelling the Computer


This is the computer base which I modelled which we have a lot in our classroom, the uv's for this object were very easy to create i wish every other object is as easy as this. I have a lot of the detail on this object which the computer unit in the class has without exceeding too much polygon count. 


This picture is to show the detail and the wire-frame of the object, as you can see a lot of the main detail is in the model.

Modelling The Chairs!


Above is the chair in my classroom which has 4 legs, this chair is repeated a lot in the class. The most time taken on this object were the uv's which I think look very good but I must ask sir if they're good enough.


This chair was a lot harder then the other chair because it has 5 legs and wheels too, which are very different to the other chair. the uv's for the chair are quite good still need to ask sir for advice. But the problem which I am thinking about is the material chrome which is on the both of the chairs which I don't know how it would work in udk so I might separate the legs and the wheels so it can be textured and materialised easily.

Creating the window walls!


I created the wall which runs through both sides, I made the glass into a separate box so the glass texture wouldn't affect the rest of the wall texture. I tried to get a much of the detail as I could without making it too high poly.

Starting from the Back

I started modelling from the back of the room and thought of working my way around the main shape of the room like the 4 sides then make what we need to make in the middle.


This is the model of the back of the room which I made taking inconsideration to make it low poly so it doesn't disrupt the engine. To keep it low a poly scene I made the boxes a different objects within the scene, this made it easier to model and keeps good poly count and also makes a good result.

Official Launch

Today was the official launch of the project which was very exciting because we were told that the artist are only liable to make the assets with textures and the designers are to do the level and the UDK work and also some animation. Me and Azam were happy from that because we can make the assets then concentrate on making the level or work at it at the same time. Because the rate Daniel is goes at it can take us the whole year to make a good level.


We want to use our own character in our game which would be a great accomplishment.

Pictures- Reference for Level


We are going to start modelling from the main things in the college the things which are used a lot in the college like the heaters, chairs, monitors etc.


These are some of the images we are going to need for making our game. Good references make good models. 

We have a lot more images taken but it would be pointless to post them all here.




Creating the Front Wall!


Like the back wall this also has a different box around the glass so we can get the glass texture on it. It doesn't have much detail but the texture and normal and specular will make it stand out very nicely. I am planning on using Zbrush to make the textures and normals etc but before that I have to make good uv's for every object.

Level Design Awesome!


Today we were introduced with the concept of our new project, all we were told today was that we have to use Unreal Development Kit to make a narrative one player level design using unreal's features such as kismet, matinee, cascade etc. But the downfall of this project is that we have to have at least one designer in our team. Me and Azam wanted to work with Ram but he isn't a designer so we had to pair up with Daniel which with previous experiences doesn't really have a good work ethic.

The idea we came up with was our college get's haunted and the theme for our game is horror. My team name which we came up is 'Vulture Studious' and we also got a logo. The game's name is 'James Watt - Avow History'.

The game will be based on a person in my class (Ram). The villain will be Azam, we will try to include some more of our classmates but that depends on the time span. Today we took some pictures of the college which we will need. The game will start from our game development class room.

It's also been a long time since I done some modelling in Maya and a very long time since I used UDK.



This is a udk level sandstorm it uses all of the UDK capabilities i like the events in this multi-player map such as the sandstorm which comes every 10 minutes or so. The sandstorm limits visibility which looks very hard to make but still very awesome.
